Denver Cinema Club presents the seminal classic Sunset Boulevard, one of the most beloved, iconic, and frequently referenced entries in the film canon. It tells the tale of an aging silent film queen (Gloria Swanson) who refuses to accept that her stardom has ended. So she hires a young screenwriter (William Holden) to help set up her movie comeback. It not only deals with themes of death and dying, but also serves as a biting critique of Hollywood’s self-established image as the “dream factory.”
