Savannah Bananas Weekend in LoDo: Where to Get in on the Fun, Even If You Don’t Have a Ticket
The Savannah Bananas made their Denver debut in 2025 and sold out Coors Field for the two games they played. They’re back in the Mile High City this August 14 and 15 to face the Indianapolis Clowns—and both games are sold out again. If you’re one of the lucky ticket holders, congratulations! If you’re not, there are plenty of ways to, ahem, go bananas in LoDo over the weekend.
McGregor Square: Your Game-Day HQ
If you don’t have tickets to the games, you can watch both on McGregor Square’s giant LED screen: Friday’s TruTV broadcast starts at 7 p.m., and you can watch the ESPN feed on Saturday at 6 p.m. Drinks from McGregor Square Food + Drink will come in limited-edition Savannah Bananas commemorative cups while supplies last, and you can find official team merch in the plaza Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Banana-Themed Food and Drink Across the Neighborhood
It’s safe to say the whole neighborhood has gone bananas for the Bananas—here’s how to get in on all the fun.
The Corner Office is running a specialty menu both game days, including banana bread French toast, and a Cubano served with crispy plantain chips. (Yes, plantains count.) For dessert, there’s a banana semifreddo and a banana crème brûlée.
The Original, inside the Rally Hotel at McGregor Square, is hosting its own Banana Bash the same two days: banana bread French toast in a crème brûlée batter, and a banana taffy ’tini cocktail made with banana whiskey.
Call Me Pearl, also inside the Rally Hotel, is running a set of specials for the weekend, including a banana bread pudding and a banana old fashioned.
The Cherry Cricket will be offering banana-chocolate shakes and shot specials all weekend, a bourbon banana julep, and Bananas Foster for dessert.
Woodie Fisher will have two specialty drinks for the occasion: the Banana Breeze, a cocktail made with vodka, pineapple, banana milk tea, and lime; and the Blue Raspberry Bay-nae-nae, a nonalcoholic, kid-friendly mocktail.
Dairy Block has three spots with specials of their own. Poka Lola Social Club is pouring a frozen Yacht Rock cocktail—made with bruléed banana-infused Zacapa 23 rum—all weekend. Kachina Cantina has a frozen banana margarita and a banana coconut agua fresca. The Maven is hosting a banana pudding pop-up called The Yellow Fix, which will be open Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. And Denver Milk Market is serving an Elvis Shot made with peanut butter whiskey, Irish cream, and banana liqueur at Moo Bar, a fitting tribute given the King’s well-documented fondness for the fruit.
At Denver Union Station, Ultreia will have a special cocktail on the menu—I Get My Bananas Down in Georgia—and Mercantile will be serving a chocolate and banana dessert.
Wynkoop Brewing Co. is going all in on the Bananas weekend: Grab banana pepper wings (pair them with the Honey, You’re Bananas beer); a banana-inspired cocktail; and, if you're still hungry, a banana split for dessert. (Plus, there will be banana stickers and temporary tattoos for kids.)
Beyond the Restaurants and Bars
Little Blue Pigeon Books on Larimer Square is hosting a Golden Banana Hunt both Saturday and Sunday, hiding one golden banana in the store each day. Whoever finds it wins a $75 gift card, a tote bag, and a bag of bookstore goodies.
Finally, Rockmount Ranch Wear has a full lineup of yellow gear for the occasion: sunflower print shirts, paisley bandanas, and western print bandanas for men and women alike.
