The A Line: Your Fast Track to LoDo
The RTD A Line runs straight from Denver International Airport to Denver Union Station in 37 minutes, bypassing the rental car lines and I-70 traffic—all for just $10.
Finding the Platform
Once you have your bags, follow the Transit Center signs to the south end of the terminal, where you’ll find the Westin Hotel. Walk through the glass doors and take the escalator or elevator to Level 1. The platform will be right in front of you.
Tickets & Fares
A $10 Airport Day Pass gets you from Denver International Airport to Union Station and includes unlimited rides on all RTD buses and trains for the rest of the service day. The easiest way to pay is to tap your credit card—or a mobile wallet app, like Apple Pay or Google Pay—on the silver validators near the train platform before you board.
You can also buy an Airport Day Pass from the ticket vending machines at the station or through RTD’s MyRide mobile ticketing, which is available in apps like Uber and Transit. Keep your ticket handy, because fare inspectors regularly check for proof of payment on the A Line and other RTD services.
What to Expect Onboard
Trains run every 15 minutes during peak hours—6 a.m. to 8 p.m.—and every 30 minutes early morning and late night. (The A Line runs from approximately 3:00 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. daily.) Every car has level boarding, so you can roll your luggage straight on, and there are racks near the doors. The train is ADA-compliant with wheelchair spaces and priority seating.
Arriving at Union Station
Union Station is right in the heart of LoDo. Walk off the train and you’re steps from The Terminal Bar, Snooze, and the magnificent Great Hall. Coors Field, McGregor Square, Dairy Block, and Larimer Square are all an easy walk from here.
FAQ
How early should I get to the platform? If possible, try to be there about 10 minutes before departure.
Can I bring my bike or skis? Yes—this is Colorado, after all. There are designated areas for both, though they may fill up during rush hour.
What about a stroller? The platform is level with the train, so you can roll your stroller right onto the train. As with all trains, watch the small gap between the platform and car.
How do I check for delays? Visit the RTD Live Tracker or the RTD Transit app.
