The Sports Fan’s Guide to LoDo
Home Base: The Rally Hotel
If you’re a baseball fan—and really, who doesn’t love a day at the ballpark, especially if that ballpark is Coors Field?—the Rally Hotel is where you’ll want to stay in Denver. Just across the street from the Rockies’ yard, the Rally showcases Rox memorabilia throughout the property, and if you’re inclined to work out before you head to the ballpark, the hotel’s gym overlooks Coors Field. Bonus: The Skybridge Rooftop Deck, replete with bar and heated plunge pool, boasts postcard-worthy views of LoDo and the Rocky Mountains.

10 a.m.
Open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day, the Original’s vibe evokes classic diners, while the food offerings are an elevated interpretation of standbys such as French toast, smothered burritos, and breakfast sandwiches. Try the short rib eggs benedict along with a mocktail, since, you know, it might be a long day at the ballpark.
11 a.m.
After brunch, stop into the Rally Store (an officially licensed Colorado Rockies Dugout Store), inside the Rally, to pick up a ball cap, jersey or other Rox swag before heading out for first pitch.
Next, for a completely different shopping experience, check out Loveweld, which, as the name suggests, makes permanent jewelry—think of your bracelet or necklace as a little like a tattoo, an enduring momento to celebrate a special occasion. Choose from a variety of classic styles in 14-carat gold, get measured, and have your piece welded on so you can wear it forever.
1 p.m.
Not interested in a hot dog at the ballgame? Milepost Zero food hall at MacGregor Square has multiple casual options for lunch, including pizza, burgers, tacos, sushi, and ramen. But the best part may be the Beer Wall, which consists of 35 self-serve taps—making it the perfect pre-game spot.

2 p.m.
Head across the street to Coors Field so you don’t miss the first pitch of the Rockies’ afternoon game. Get seats on the third base/left field side of the ballpark so you can have a little protection from the afternoon rays and be sure to check out the Sandlot Brewery, located right inside the stadium, which is where Belly Slide Wit was invented—the beer that inspired the now-famous, and pretty much ubiquitous, Blue Moon Belgian White.
6 p.m.
A long afternoon at the ballpark calls for something a little more reserved as evening descends on the Mile High City, and Call Me Pearl in MacGregor Square, is a perfect antidote to the crowds watching the game at the ballpark. Sidle up to the bar at this chic, sophisticated spot, and grab a snack and an expertly made cocktail before heading back to your room for a quick respite.
7 p.m.
Stay close to home for dinner at McGregor Square, where you can choose your own adventure. If you’re feeling like Italian, Carmine’s offers classic Italian fare—think baked ziti, chicken parm, and seasonal risotto—served family style. If Mexican is more your speed, La Loma has a newish outpost in McGregor Square. Founded in 1973, La Loma’s has become a Denver institution, known for its rich green chile and fresh tortillas. Order a coin-style margarita and some guacamole for the table while perusing the menu of Colorado‑style Tex‑Mex treats.
